TreeKeepers

What is TreeKeepers?

Baltimore TreeKeepers is TreeBaltimore’s free, city-wide tree stewardship program open to all city residents interested in helping Baltimore’s trees.
As a TreeKeeper, you’ll learn how to help plant and care for trees on your street, in your neighborhood, around your schools, and in your parks. And, you’ll join a growing community of people who care about Baltimore City’s tree canopy.

How do I become a TreeKeeper?

TreeKeeper Planting Leaders can qualify to plant and mulch street and park trees by taking four classes, and going to 2 volunteer tree planting events hosted by one of our amazing partners.
• TK Core 1: Trees & Baltimore
• TK Core 2: The Science of Trees
• TK Introduction to Tree Planting
• TK Tree Planting Field Session

TreeKeeper Pruners can qualify to prune street and park trees by taking four classes, and going to 2 volunteer tree pruning events hosted by one of our amazing partners.

• TK Introduction to Tree Pruning - Class this winter!
• TK Tree Pruning Field Session - Class this winter!

We are returning to in-person classes, with a livestream virtual option. For more information about the virtual session contact us at TreeBaltimore.

Upcoming Classes

These classes are by registration only!

Fall 2023 classes begin September 2023.

Note: Classes do not have to be completed in one consecutive series. Also, since TK Core 1 & 2 only have to be taken once to count towards both series, many people go on to certify as both planters and pruners.
