What is TreeKeepers?
Baltimore TreeKeepers is TreeBaltimore’s free, city-wide tree stewardship program open to all city residents interested in helping Baltimore’s trees.
As a TreeKeeper, you’ll learn how to help plant and care for trees on your street, in your neighborhood, around your schools, and in your parks. And, you’ll join a growing community of people who care about Baltimore City’s tree canopy.
How do I become a TreeKeeper?
There are two TreeKeepers certifications available: Planting and Pruning. TreeBaltimore also offers a extra-curricular “TreeKeepers Plus” classes in addition to the regular planting and pruning certification tracks. These classes take a deeper diver into various tree-related topics.
TreeKeeper Planting Leaders are qualified to plant and mulch street and park trees after taking four classes, and attending 2 volunteer tree planting events hosted by one of our amazing partners.

TreeKeeper Pruners are qualified to prune street and park trees after taking 3 classes, and attending 2 volunteer tree pruning events hosted by one of our amazing partners.
