Spicebush commonly grows in the understory of local forests, where in spring a light yellow hue can be seen from a distance eye level. The tiny yellow blossoms, leaves, and twig bark may be steeped in hot water for a delightful aromatic tea. Plant this in a shady corner of your yard and you can expect a multi-stem shrub with showy red berries in September.
