The Swamp Chestnut Oak, Quercus michauxii, is a medium-large sized oak that can grow up to 60ft. The leaves resemble those of chestnut, and turn dark red in the fall. Will produce acorns in the fall, which are uniquely low in tannins, able to be eaten directly from the tree.
