Civic Works’ Baltimore Orchard Project (BOP) and Baltimore Greenspace present the Pruning Power Workshop Series
February 21-March 2, 2019
Tickets FREE for Orchard Stewards and partners
$1-$10 for community members
Winter’s the perfect time for pruning fruit trees for the spring harvest season. Think of pruning a fruit tree like trimming your hair to stop split ends. We call these “energizing” cuts because they help the tree grow and yield more fruit. The first half of the workshop will focus on the science of pruning, tree architecture and how to make pruning cuts. Afterward, there will be a hands-on session, where we will work together to prune a few trees.
Join us at these locations:

*To get to Jonah House by car, proceed on Bentalou Street (south of North Avenue, north of Edmondson Avenue) to 1326 Bentalou. This is where you will find an alley way (look for the Emmanuel Tire sign). Take the alley way straight back (to Emmanuel Tire). At the end you will find a gate on the left. That is the gate to St. Peter’s Cemetery, where Jonah House is located.
