Join the Flowering Tree Trails of Baltimore & Friends of Herring Run Parks on Saturday, Feb. 16, 2019 in Herring Run Park for a fun and educational tree pruning workshop. We will learn how to prune young trees to remove sucker growth, and crossing and dead branches. This will help the trees develop good branch structure and storm resiliency.

Meet in the park at the corner of Parkside Drive and Sinclair Lane in Northeast Baltimore. Closest address is 6000 Parkside Drive, 21213.

Learn these basic skills and apply them to young trees in your own yard, street tree, or park tree(s). There will be NO CLIMBING [and sorry, no beavers!] – all feet will stay planted firmly on the ground for this workshop!!!

This is an outdoor-only event. Dress for the weather, please, wearing boots and gloves and warm clothing. If it is raining or snowing heavily or unsafe to travel, we will not hold this workshop.

Bring clean, sharp pruning tools if you have them. We will have some hand saws, loppers, and pruners to share. Participation in this workshop will serve as one Baltimore TreeKeepers Pruning certification volunteer event. Workshop will be taught by a certified arborist who will lead those interested to a TreeBeers afterwards. (;
