Druid Hill Park, October 8th, 1919:

The National Service Star Legion planted memorial trees atop a grassy hillside “In loving memory of all those who gave their lives in world war. One for each state, one for Baltimore, one for our allies, and one for our war time president Woodrow Wilson 1917-1918”

Join Gary Letteron and Ted Martello with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks Department Urban Forestry Division and TreeBaltimore initiative. Let’s commemorate this memorial grove of oaks. Meet at the memorial grove (beside the main entrance to the Maryland Zoo) at 5:00pm. We’ll gaze up in honor of this great legacy of land and people. Then we’ll hop on our bicycles (bring your own bike), and tour the rest of the park’s outstanding trees.

Tour is an hour and a half, and total mileage = 5.

This event is free.
